At our Vin’Osteria, we’ll treat you to pasta and Neapolitan pizza, an extensive selection of wines and grappa, summer drinks, unusual gin cocktails, beer from the regional independent brewery ‘Altenauer’ and much more.
To start with, why not choose a Burratina, a Carpaccio alla Cipriani, our hand-tenderised beef fillet, or the traditional version of Vitello Tonnato from the “House of Savoy”?
Alongside the typical osteria fare of pizza and pasta, we offer special dishes on our special menu. These might include turbot, saltimbocca alla Romana or a Fiorentina steak. Let us surprise you.

800-degree Beefer

For steak lovers, we have a special treat: a permanent steak menu, and to accommodate this, we’ve treated ourselves to
an 800-degree Beefer😁 From entrecôte and fillet of beef to porterhouse, Japanese-style and tomahawk – we’ve got it all.

On the other hand, vegetarians and vegans will also find plenty to enjoy here.

Wine selection:

A wine list featuring a selection of over 70 wines leaves nothing to be desired.
Connoisseurs will also find the great Tuscan wines Tignanello, Ornellaia and Sassicaia
here. This also applies to sparkling wines and digestifs, including top-quality grappas from Berta and fruit brandies from Fassbind

The ambience ranges from cosy and modern to stylish. Solid oak with natural edge meets velvet-upholstered seating in New York style. Contemporary Italian pop plays softly from a SONOS sound system, occasionally enhanced by Pavarotti’s ‘Caruso’ or ‘Nessun Dorma’.

Montevino has made a name for itself in just three years and is proud to serve a catchment area of nearly 100 km and beyond. Word has quickly spread that Montevino has expanded Schierke’s culinary diversity to include Italian cuisine. Parking
spaces are in short supply in Schierke. We have up to 12 parking spaces for our guests.
The terrace roof can be opened fully (roof and sides), so that on fine days a large terrace invites you to linger and enjoy a feast.

Pizza

Authentic Neapolitan style, where the crust isn’t crispy but fluffy – a delicacy in its own right. It measures at
least 32 cm in diameter and is generously topped.
Judging by the nearly 1,000 reviews, it’s clear that this is the best pizza in the Harz region and beyond.

Tartufi

Truffle dishes are a particular speciality at Montevino. Head chef Claude was a truffle dealer for the Braunschweig/Hanover area for many years. During the summer or winter truffle season, the truffle pasta is prepared at the table inside a large wheel of Parmesan and then served to perfection.

Breakfast:

We also ask guests who are not staying at the Bergwaldsuites to book in advance for the breakfast buffet.

Celebrations, functions

The Montevino is also available for small to medium-sized groups and can be booked in its entirety for celebrations, anniversaries, corporate events, etc. Please speak to Claude, our restaurant manager, about this.
These events can also be moved to the Schierke Feuersteinarena either immediately or afterwards, as we run the Montevino Lounge & Bar there.

With Montevino, the Italian way of life has found its way into the small mountain village of Schierke, as the majority of our staff are of Italian origin.
