On 5 September 2026, it's finally time for the MDR HARZ OPEN AIR in the Bürgerpark Wernigerode. The popular late summer open air for guests of all ages is back and the line-up is set. After the traditional family programme for the youngest guests in the afternoon, followed by a regional band that MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT is giving a big performance, visitors can look forward to THE BOSSHOSS, MARQUESS and DER WILDE GARTEN.

The MDR HARZ OPEN AIR 2026 will once again be hosted by Susi Brandt, presenter of the TV magazine programme MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT HEUTE, and her radio colleague Lars Wohlfarth, the MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT morning presenter.

THE BOSSHOSS - Live on stage, The BossHoss are an unforgettable, explosively energetic experience - pure power that sweeps you away! When the seven charismatic capital city cowboys, above all the two frontmen Alec "Boss Burns" Völkel and Sascha "Hoss Power" Vollmer, perform, rock'n'roll fans get their money's worth. With the brand new album "Back To The Boots", they return to their musical roots: rougher, rawer, more honest than ever. Coupled with their greatest hits from "Don't Gimme That", "Dos Bros", "Do It", "Jolene" and many more, the band leaves nothing to be desired. They rock live, without compromise!

MARQUESS - They are known for translating the power of the sun into exotic pop songs. What began with early superhits such as "El Temperamento" (2006) and "Vayamos Compañeros" has now taken Marquess into the top 10 in 11 European countries, in some of them even to number 1. Sascha Pierro, Christian Fleps and Dominik Decker perform live in front of hundreds of thousands of people every year, transforming every dance floor into an exuberant Latin fiesta. The 20th anniversary tour will take place in 2026 and will also take them to Wernigerode.

GEORGI GOGOW - THE WILD GARDEN - that's one violin, two guitars, three exceptional musicians - and a musical garden that could hardly be wilder. Georgi "Joro" Gogow, legendary devil's violinist and bassist of the cult band CITY ("Am Fenster"), invites you to an extraordinary concert with DER WILDE GARTEN. Also on board: the expressive volcano tube Karolina "Karo" Blasek and the guitar fire of Kai-Uwe Scheffler. She brings the fire to the voice, he brings the glow to the sound. Together, the three bring the wild garden to bloom - full of energy, unbridled playfulness and surprising sounds.

MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT presents MUSIC FROM OUR COUNTRY once again at the MDR HARZ OPEN AIR. In 2026, an act from Saxony-Anhalt will once again have the chance to perform on the big stage in the Bürgerpark Wernigerode.

For the younger guests and their families, there will be a band for the youngest in Wernigerode at the start of the show in the afternoon in 2026 with the best live music.

With its artistic line-up, the MDR HARZ OPEN AIR in 2026 will once again stand for the best current pop music and great hits of the past, appealing to a broad target group, both the local population and tourist guests in the Harz region. In the natural ambience of the Bürgerpark and in front of the panorama of Wernigerode Castle, various programme items for children, families and all music-loving fans take place on the stage.
