Important functions for the surrounding area

The Oder Reservoir waterworks, which was commissioned in 1933 and last modernised in 2015, is now used more than ever before. Up to 1,500 households are supplied with green electricity by the Oder Dam's hydroelectric power plant. In addition to generating electricity, the Oder Dam also fulfils other important functions depending on the season: For example, it also serves to regulate the water level and thus protects against flooding in spring. In summer, on the other hand, it serves to raise low water levels during prolonged dry weather conditions.
