A small witches' herb kitchen has existed in the small national park town of Ilsenburg since 1995.

Hidden behind old half-timbered walls, a liqueur is made here from 16 secret herbs, which is said to have magical properties.

It is said to be the fuel for the witches on their way to the Brocken, when thousands of them flock to the Blocksberg on Walpurgis.

My 45% herbal liqueur is produced by hand according to an old monastery recipe . A blend of 16 valuable herbs is processed into a harmonious liqueur without any artificial additives. A genuine Harz speciality is created in my herbal manufactory in Ilsenburg.

My herbal liqueur is a typical Harz product. Of course, you can find it at many petrol stations throughout the Harz region.

Be it the catering establishments in Ilsenburg, such as the "Wilde Ilse", the "Waldhotel Ilsenburg" or the "Alstadthotel Ilsenburg", the shops where you can find typical Harz products - from Goslar, via Wernigerode, Quedlinburg to Stollberg. About the manufactory

Since 1995, all witches have been flying to the Brocken with our Ilsenburg Brocken Witches' Flying Fuel. The starting signal was given at the Walpurgis celebration in Ilsenburg in 1995. Since then, our herbal liqueur has been made from 16 secret herbs in a small witches' herb kitchen hidden behind old half-timbered walls in the small national park town of Ilsenburg.

My parents, Kerstin and Hartmut Enzenberg, lovingly crafted a product based on an old monastery recipe. Our herbal liqueur now enjoys an ever-growing community of aficionados. I, Franziska Enzenberg, took over the manufactory in mid-2022 and am now the second generation to run it.

The basis for our herbal liqueur is based on an old, secret monastery recipe. A sophisticated recipe, developed from 16 different herbs mixed with alcohol and honey, and personal craftsmanship (from purchasing the raw materials and herbs to bottling the herbal liqueur, as well as personal distribution) characterise the herbal manufactory. The recipe has remained unchanged since the manufactory was founded and has delighted many a palate in the Harz Mountains and throughout Germany.

All the ingredients for the "magic potion" made from 16 different dried herbs come from the Harz region. Our herbal liqueur is not a distilled schnapps, but rather a infusion. Eight herbs are first crushed in two different stages, then infused with alcohol and left to stand for a certain amount of time, depending on the preparation, so that the herbs can enrich the alcohol. Honey and other ingredients are then added. The production process always takes seven days so that the suspended matter can settle. The longer the batch stands, the better!
