Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of technology and experience at first hand how steam locomotives, diesel locomotives, railcars and passenger and goods wagons are serviced and maintained. Our historic workshop hall from 1926, an impressive industrial monument measuring 70 metres long, 25 metres wide and 11 metres high, provides a unique backdrop for experiencing railway technology up close.

On a guided tour, you will feel the impressive engineering skill and attention to detail that goes into every work process. Be amazed by the size and history of these technical masterpieces - an experience for all technology and history enthusiasts!

The steam locomotive workshop

The Harz narrow-gauge railway workshop invites you to gain an exciting insight into the world of the railway. Discover the processes and work areas of a modern workshop on the gallery walk and learn more about the technology, maintenance and operation of the historic vehicles.

Vivid exhibition elements and information boards convey knowledge in an understandable way - ideal for technology enthusiasts and curious explorers of all ages.

However, the experience does not end indoors: a lovingly designed railway-themed adventure playground awaits you in the adjoining outdoor area. Here, children can playfully go on a discovery tour.

In the ticket and souvenir shop, you will also find suitable souvenirs for your visit.
