Rockharz Open Air

The Rockharz Festival is the open-air metal festival in the Harz region par excellence and this year again attracts rock and metal fans from all over Germany. After 30 years, it has established itself as a permanent fixture and will once again take place at Ballenstedt airfield, a small town in the Harz region, where it offers an impressive of legendary bands, up-and-coming artists and an incomparable festival atmosphere. This year the festival will take place from 05 to 08 July with a total of 57 bands.

The metal festival began in 1993/94 with just 100 visitors and various gigs on lorry trailers and developed steadily. Nowadays, the Rockharz Festival is characterised in particular by its varied and top-class line-up. From classic hard rock to heavy metal to thrash, death metal and everything in between, there is something for everyone. Acts include or have included Knorkator, Subway to Sally, Feuerschwanz, In Extremo, Saltatio Mortis, Jinjer, Arch Enemy....

There are two stages, the Rock Stage and the Dark Stage, and all the acts are timed so that you don't have to miss anything. Away from the stages, the festival site also offers plenty of activities and amenities from various food stalls with a variety of culinary delights to bars where you can toast the toast to the festival.
