Maria Lüdeke. Coming and going

Coming and Going combines sculptural portraits made of wood with the photographic work of Maria Lüdeke and is complemented by multimedia installations. This range of forms of expression creates a discrepancy and reference between the different media and opens up a fruitful dialogue.

The artist finds her inspiration in natural and urban spaces as well as through the people she encounters. Her focus is on individual and collective memory and how its urban manifestation creates realities and shapes the future.

Coming and Going refers on the one hand to the biography of the artist, who herself has lived in various countries and has now returned to her home country with her family. On the other hand, Kommen und Gehen refers to the limited individual existence in this world, which Maria Lüdeke explores with artistic means.
