Who has the heaviest?

On 12 October, we want to hold the 4th open GPC resin championship in pumpkin weighing (varieties: Atlantic Giant Pumpkin and Squash) as part of our regional day together with the Regional Association of Gardening Friends Wernigerode and Surroundings.

Would you like to take part? All interested gardening enthusiasts are welcome!

You can bring your pumpkin to the park either on Saturday, 11 October 2025, from 10 am to 4 pm or on Sunday, 12 October 2025, from 8 am to 10 am. On Sunday we will also have a small wheel loader on site with which we can transport your giant pumpkin from your car for weighing.

The weighing will take place from 12 noon.

The winners will be honoured with a trophy, certificate and GPC ribbon.

It is an "Open GPC Pumpkin Weighing Championship". This means that all results will be included in a worldwide ranking list. This allows the growers to compare their results with those worldwide. The abbreviation GPC stands for Great Pumpkin Commonwealth, an organisation from the United States."

Pumpkins can be collected on 12 October from 17:00 - 18:00. Pumpkins that are not collected will be donated to the park. Participants in the Harz Championship receive free admission to the regional day.
