THE HEXENRITT ALM

Our alpine hut, formerly known asthe ‘Kaffeehorst’, is a popular destination for skiers, walkers and cyclists. In a rustic setting, we serve chilled drinks, light snacks and classics such as currywurst, tarte flambée, cheese spaetzle and sweet treats such as Kaiserschmarrn or cake. As well as being a place to stop for refreshments and relaxation, the Hexenritt Alm is also a sought-after venue for events: from public holidays to après-ski parties. We also offer the perfect setting for weddings, birthdays, youth initiation ceremonies, confirmations or corporate events – idyllic surroundings and versatile function rooms included. Our team will assist you with planning and organisation. Whether it’s a quick stop, a cosy break or a festive occasion – the Hexenritt Alm is always worth a visit.

HIKES

Experience the stunning natural beauty of the Harz Mountains on a hike through forests and mountains. Numerous trails lead right past our mountain hut and are perfect for walks of all lengths. The large car park at the Hexenritt Alm is an ideal starting point. From here, you can reach the cable car in just a few minutes and enjoy a spectacular view over the Harz Mountains.

CYCLISTS

The Wurmberg in Braunlage is a paradise for cyclists. Whether you’re on a mountain bike or an e-bike – a variety of routes await you here. The Hexenritt Alm is the perfect place for a refreshing break or to wind down in style after an active day. Whilst you enjoy a cool drink, you can conveniently charge your e-bike at our charging stations.

WINTER SPORTS

As Lower Saxony’s highest mountain, the Wurmberg is a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts. Slopes, cross-country trails and the proximity to the cable car, chairlift and T-bar lifts make the Hexenritt Alm the ideal starting point for skiers and snowboarders. Winter walkers will also find plenty to enjoy. A large car park and regular ski bus services between Braunlage and the Alm ensure a convenient journey. After an active day in the snow, our Alm is the perfect place to warm up and relax.

SCHIRMBAR AT THE HEXENRITT (winter season only)

During the ski season, our Schirmbar awaits you with genuine après-ski atmosphere. Enjoy the sun with a cool drink or warm up with mulled wine or hot chocolate. Right next door, our bratwurst stand and snack bar serve hearty snacks, hot meals and drinks. Everything is run by the Hexenritt Alm team, who ensure a great atmosphere and top-notch service.

The Schirmbar is situated at an altitude of 720 m at the valley station of the Hexenlift – a popular meeting place for skiers, snowboarders and winter sports enthusiasts. It’s the perfect place to round off an active day in good company. Whether with friends, family or simply in a relaxed setting – the Schirmbar at the Hexenritt offers the perfect blend of winter ambience and a great atmosphere.
