The "Mausefalle Runde von Oker" starts in the southern part of Oker at the bus stop and initially leads for several kilometres along the western side of the Oker. The hike is considered quite difficult and is therefore recommended for advanced hikers - good basic fitness as well as sturdy shoes and good equipment are therefore prerequisites. The first hiking highlight appears after about 2.5 kilometres: the Adlerklippe (Eagle Cliff ) and the Marienwand (Mary's Wall), which follows shortly after.

During a short break in summer, climbers can easily be seen abseiling from the rocks on both rock faces.

Shortly after the Adlerklippe and still far before the Marienwand, the route changes banks to the local side and continues past the aforementioned Marienwand to the first view: the "View into the Oker Valley".

From here, the view extends over large parts of the Oker valley. The hiking route then continues east to other highlights such as the Mausefalle (mouse trap) and the Hexenküche (witch's kitchen).

Both rock formations illustrate the wool-sack weathering typical of the Harz, which makes the edges of the rocks look rounded. The Mausefalle is named after the small rock that supports the much larger one above it. I wonder how long it will hold before it snaps shut like a mousetrap. What follows further north is the Kästeklippe and the Harzer Wandernadel stamp box 118, followed by the cliff tour between Oker and Romkerhall. Last but not least, you pass the Teufelsklippe (Devil's Cl iff) and return to the starting point of the hike.
