The former episcopal town of Halberstadt in the Harz Mountains looks back on a long history: to this day, impressive churches and ornate half-timbered houses are reminders of the town's medieval past and invite you to explore.

Above all, the Cathedral of St Stephanus & Sixtus can be recognised from afar: It characterises the skyline of Halberstadt like no other building. Those who wish can venture up the observation tower, which offers a spectacular view of the northern Harz Mountains.
