This quite difficult cycle route is about 38 kilometres long and takes a little more than 3 hours to cycle 890 metres up to the Brocken summit. A good level of fitness is therefore recommended. Parts of the route are not perfectly passable by bike, which is why the bike can be pushed for about 129 metres.

The starting point of the cycle tour is the Oderteich, which lies between Braunlage, St. Andreasberg and Claustal-Zellerfeld and is ideal for a cool swim in summer. It is an ideal starting point for many hikers and cyclists, as there are numerous parking spaces available. The dam, built by Andreasberg miners from 1715 to 1722, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Oberharzer Wasserregal since 2010.

Further northwest, after about 7 kilometres, the "Triangular Pile" is waiting to be discovered. A historic granite boundary stone about 1.35 m high to the southwest of the Brocken, it was set before 1866 and marked the border between the Kingdom of Hanover and the Duchy of Brunswick. To the east of the post is the associated shelter with roof, tables and seating ideal for a short rest.

Passing the "Schwarzen Schluftwasser", a tributary stream of the Kalten Bode, you finally climb to the summit of the Brocken, with the characteristic Brockenhaus and the Brocken railway station. Depending on the weather, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view from the summit of the Brocken at an altitude of around 1140 metres. From there, the cycle route leads back along a similar path to the starting point at the Oderteich pond.
