If you want to explore the famous Devil's Wall in the Harz Mountains and the beautiful town of Quedlinburg in more detail by bike, this cycle route is just right for you. Covering a distance of approx. 43 kilometres, it takes around 3 hours and 15 minutes to cycle from the town of Blankenburg past the Devil's Wall to Quedlinburg and back.
The starting point in Blankenburg is the railway station, which can be easily reached by almost any means of transport. The first cycling highlight of the route along the Devil's Wall is the so-called "Hamburger Wappen". The bizarre grouping of rocks is part of the legendary Devil's Wall between Blankenburg and Timmenrode and got its name from the three upright rock spikes, which are reminiscent of the coat of arms of Hamburg. Cyclists can enjoy a wonderful view in almost all directions from this spot. Tables and benches invite you to take a break.
The route continues along the legendary Devil's Wall to the town of Quedlinburg further north. Here you can discover the beautiful historic old town with its restored half-timbered houses, the town hall and the Quedlinburg market square . The town hall on the north side of the market square is still the administrative centre of the town and, together with the market square, forms the centre of Quedlinburg. In the lively centre of the town, which is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there are also good places to stop for refreshments at every corner.
From Quedlinburg, our cycle route leads eastwards back to the starting point in Blankenburg.
