Family hike
Kaiserweg - Stöberhai - Forellengrund

We start our family hike at the Kaiserweg hiking car park between Wieda and Braunlage. The route takes us along the well-maintained hiking trails to the highest mountain in the southern Harz, the Stöberhai (720 m above sea level). On the Stöberhai, there is the opportunity to get a stamp (HWN 159) for the Harz hiking pin, and we will also take an extended break there. We can enjoy the marvellous panoramic view over a rustic Harz snack.

Once we are well-fuelled, we will continue our hike into the Wieda Valley. There will be a short stop at the memorial site of "Fernmeldesektor C". Then we head down into the beautiful Wieda Valley. Shortly before reaching our destination, we will make a short stop at "Der alte Wache". Here you can enjoy a beautiful view of Wieda with its church and bell tower. After a short break, we tackle the last part of our hike.

The route is 13.2 kilometres long and a moderately difficult hike with a walking time of around 4.5 hours.

from Pfarrwiese cemetery Wieda 10:04 a.m.

to Schmiedetal Kaiserweg 10:16 a.m.

Guests can use the bus free of charge with their spa card (Hatix)

Meeting point 1: 9:55 am at the Pfarrwiese bus stop in Wieda (Forellengrund hiking car park is 200m away)

Meeting point 2: 10:16 am at the Kaiserweg hiking car park (L601 between Wieda and Braunlage)
