In honour of Johannes Brahms, whose birthday would have been two days before the start of the festival, you can look forward to the star clarinettist Thorsten Johanns on Saturday from 6 pm. He is in demand internationally and performs with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic and the BR Symphony Orchestra. The Aris Quartet will also be performing. With numerous awards, such as "ECHO Rising Stars" or "New Generation Artists" from the BBC and recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, it has long been at the top of the quartet scene. In the Festhalle, the musicians will present the Brahms Clarinet Quintet, among others.
