Schöne Lieder, vol. 3 - Piano cabaret with a toaster
Emil Bach has a problem: his girlfriend has turned into a toaster. How do you deal with this? The best way is to write a song about it so that the audience at least gets something out of it. Emil Bach is an extraordinary songwriter whose works are characterised by linguistic sophistication and musical versatility. The songs of the linguist with a doctorate combine clever, subtle humour with profound thoughtfulness and defy clear categorisation. He not only plays with unconventional piano accompaniments, but also with the big and small questions of everyday life. Whether he sings about gay penguins, pizza deliveries to Atlantis or pasta with ketchup - each song surprises and often only unfolds its full effect as it progresses to the end. Whether in Vienna or Berlin, Munich or Cologne, Stuttgart or Weimar: with his debut programme Schöne Lieder, vol. 3 and with his new programme Feng Shui from the previous day, the small artist, who grew up in the Westerwald and now lives in exile in Lower Bavaria, is delighting a steadily growing audience. He won first place at the international chanson competition "Junge Talente" in Cologne (2025) and has been nominated for the Bielefeld Cabaret Prize 2026 with his debut programme. He can now be heard in Wernigerode for the first time.
Emil Bach is a member of the SAGO song school and winner of his primary school's painting competition (2003).
