The charming town of Langelsheim in the district of Goslar in Lower Saxony was created on 1 July 1972 through the merger of several municipalities. Thanks to its natural location on the north-western edge of the Harz Mountains with its unique natural areas and rich cultural heritage, the town of Langelsheim is an attractive destination for nature lovers, those seeking relaxation and those interested in culture. Due to its proximity to the River Innerste, the original town of Langelsheim has been an attractive industrial centre since the 19th century. With the incorporation of several villages, the town area has more than doubled in size. The unique separation of the industrial and tourist areas has created an attractive holiday region.
