North-east of the town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld, the cycle route starts at the Wildemann bus stop, which is accessible by all means of transport. From there, the 13-kilometre, three-and-a-half-hour route starts in a northerly direction to the first cycling highlight: the Grumbacher Teich.
The Grumbacher Teich near Hahnenklee-Bockswiese, like other ponds around Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Hahnenklee and Wildemann, was artificially created and is therefore part of the Harz Water Regal. The pond offers great opportunities for a rest amidst the idyllic atmosphere. Well rested, the trail continues north past the Hahnenklee Stave Church near the Liebesbankweg up to the Granetal Dam. The Granetal Dam, built between 1966 and 1969 in the Goslar Hills, is used for drinking water supply, flood protection, water regulation and power generation, and offers cyclists a beautiful view of the cool water in some places.
A short distance further through the town of Goslar, past the Herzog Julius Hut, the route finally continues west to the Innerstetalsperre. It serves the same purpose as the Granetal Dam and offers both hikers and cyclists ideal viewing spots along the southern shore of the Innerstest Reservoir. Finally, the route leads through the small town of Lautenthal back to Wildemann.
