Tropfsteinhöhlen Rübeland

The Rübeland stalactite caves amidst the unique natural scenery of the Harz Mountains are among the oldest and most famous show caves in Germany. Both the Hermann's and Baumann's Caves lead deep into the legendary Harz mountains, with guaranteed surprises !

In Baumann's Cave , even the ascent through the 74 metre long and 16% ascending entrance tunnel is an experience that will make your heart beat faster. But the effort is rewarded: deep inside the cave , a unique wealth of colourful and imaginative stalactites and stalagmites awaits visitors. The absolute highlight is the Goethe Hall with its underground natural stage and space for up to 270 event guests. Theatre performances, concerts and even weddings regularly take place here.

In the Hermannshöhle c ave, around 300 steps lead through huge caverns up to 50 metres high, up to 50 metres high with a multitude of unique stalactite formations. stalactite formations. Highlights here include the crystal chamber with its with its filigree calcite crystals and the Olmensee lake, which is home to Germany's only grotto olms live here.

On an approx. 50-minute guided tour, you will learn everything you need to know about the special features of the Baumannshöhle and/or Hermannshöhle caves, their stalactites and cave dwellers. In Hermann's C ave, you also have the opportunity to visit the cave without a guide at selected times. Children's torchlight tours are also regularly offered especially for our younger guests.

Please note that the opening times of Hermann's Cave and Baumann's Cave vary seasonally and that Hermann's Cave remains closed during the winter months due to bat protection. However, Baumann's Cave is open regularly during this time.
