If you would like to expand your knowledge of wines and spirits, either for your personal or professional career, then you've come to the right place.

Weinschule und Handel Harz was founded in 2019 and sees itself as a modern institution. For us, wine is not just a luxury item, but part of our culture. Every bottle, every glass has its own story, which is linked to the history and culture of the respective growing region and winegrower.

In December 2023, we opened our new wine shop "Wine & More" in Braunlage. There you can enjoy exquisite wines and spirits as well as excellent small dishes in a cosy atmosphere.

The founder

My name is Alessandro De Soghe.
I learnt to love wine through working in my parents' restaurant.

In 2003, I completed my sommelier training at what is now the "European School for Sommelier".

In 2017, I decided to continue my training. I successfully completed the WEST Level 3 Wine Award (Wine& Spirit EducationTrust) at the DHA (German Hotel Academy in Cologne).

In 2018, I started studying at the Weinakademie Österreich or Hochschule Geisenheim University, with the aim of achieving the "Weinakademiker Diploma" and thus one of the highest international training programmes in the wine world.

In November 2021, I graduated as a wine academic.

Wine is my passion, which now characterises my lifestyle. The founding of the "Weinschule und Handel Harz" and the vinotheque "Wine & More" is the realisation of a lifelong dream that I would like to share with you.
