Wurmberg - The adventure mountain in the Harz Mountains

The Wurmberg in Braunlage offers all year round varied experiences all year round. The longest cable car in northern Germany takes you the summit in around 12 minutes over 2,800 metres - including impressive impressive views over the Harz Mountains. Once at the top, the mountain adventure world with observation tower, marble run, playground and petting zoo invites you to discover and ideal for families.

Action fans will get their money's worth at Braunlage Bike Park. Four natural routes (Freeride, Snakebite, Evil Rock's & Enduro) offer up to 4.5 kilometres of riding fun for beginners and pros. The cable car takes bikers directly to the mountain station at an altitude of 960 metres.

Another summer highlight are the mountain carts, which take you down into the valley at high speed.

In winter, the Wurmberg is the largest ski area in the Harz Mountains with five lifts and over 13 kilometres of groomed pistes.

Summit experience

THE HIGHEST IN LOWER SAXONY

At 971 metres, the Wurmberg is the highest mountain in Lower Saxony and offers a fantastic view over the Harz National Park. From the summit of the Wurmberg, the Brocken with its 1,141 metres seems close enough to touch.

BIKEPARK BRAUNLAGE

The bike park on the Wurmberg has been in existence since 2009 and offers by far the longest descents in the Harz Mountains. The varied and challenging routes ensure long-lasting biking fun. All route features can be bypassed on simple "chickenways".
